Thanks to my older son, on this last day of September's A to Z Challenge, I'm delighted to share a guest post, written by him.
“There are zombies down in Scuttle Creek,” an old man told a random guy. “The undead wrecked my minivan, and then they came for me. I had no choice but to flee.”
“Oh, gee. That sounds pretty bad. I wish I'd been there to see,” said Mr. Mason, the clerk of a small town store.
He chuckled. There had been a lot of loonies here recently, all screaming about zombies down in the old creek. He didn’t believe a word of it. (I mean, would you?) So he agreed to accompany the man back to his van.
On the way there, the old man told him how, as he was driving along, “All of a sudden a lot of corpses had jumped out onto the road in front of … MY VAN! What’s happened to my van?!” He shouted this last part at the top of his lungs, and he had good reason to be upset.
For there lay the wrecked, slimy, rusted, bent and disgusting skeleton of what had, just yesterday, been a clean and new Chevy mini van.
At the sight of such wreckage, Mr. Mason became quite nervous, and then he heard a scream, “THEY’RE BACK… AGH!” He looked over at Scuttle Creek’s bank and his heart almost stopped. There were loads of corpses strewn all through the river, and some of them began climbing up the bank toward them…
The End
In an effort to help my dad, his grandson (who writes him a letter a day) dedicated tomorrow’s letter to sharing preventative measures, just in case.
Dear Grandpa, 1st of October (woohoo)
Oh, and it’s Wednesday!
In an event like Scuttle Creek, do you think you would survive? If not, here are some things to help you survive:
1: Being a main character - as a main character you have a very small chance of death.
2: Have a gun that explodes zombies.
3: Have an anti-undead scroll.
4: Don’t be a random civilian.
5: Say, “Boo!” to scare the zombies.
6: Don’t drive a mini van.
7: Live in or near a dry area.
8: Don’t be tasty.
9: Don’t infect yourself with the zombie disease by playing at the computer too much.
10: Stay clean.
Love
Your grandson
